How to Pack an Easy, Healthy Lunch

Want an easy, healthy lunch every day but not big on meal prepping?

No problem. I got you.

Sometimes I don’t even like to carve out hours on my day off just to spend it in the kitchen prepping meals for the week.

I would settle for fast food because of my laziness and not wanting to cook a healthy meal to take to work. But that Bojangles, it’s so good, but not so good for me.

An easy fix is to just create a super simple meal to throw together in the morning before I head out the door.

I usually spend 5-10 minutes tops on prepping a lunch.

Not too shabby right?

It’s way easier than you think.

Make a list of meals you like, or want to try.

Remember, we’re going for simple and easy here.

So make sure you’re not jotting down you want to make your own hummus, if that’s the case, what are you doing here?

Think about things that you can make in no time.

No ideas other than the same old boring sandwich?

Don’t worry about that, you can jazz it up!

Recreate boring meals.

Yeah those things can get boring, but you can create new ways to eat the same old stuff!

Tired of a regular turkey and cheddar cheese wrap with lettuce and mustard?

Try a new condiment, like salad dressing or swap out the lettuce for bell peppers to give it some more flavor.

Toss some fruit or vegetables in your lunch box that doesn’t require much prep, if any!

Give frozen meals a try!

Sometimes I grab a Lean Cuisine when I’m in a rush. I like to have a couple on hand for those just in case days.

Better than fast food, right?

When you stocking your freezer for healthy easy meal ideas, make sure you always look at the label.

Avoid foods that are high in sodium, and keep your eye out for hidden sugars.

Frozen foods are great when you’re super short on time but most have a high calorie count and can be less healthy than a freshly made lunch.

No problem though!

Just keep your eye out for unhealthy ingredients and additives and you will make the best choice when it comes to creating an easy, healthy lunch!

You can also try some frozen pre-made pastas that are made from vegetables. (Find them where the frozen veggies are!)

Or frozen veggie noodles!

Toss in some precooked grilled chicken and you’ve got a meal!

Buy pre-cut or pre-packaged produce.

Say that 5 times fast!

Purchasing fruits and veggies that are already cut and packaged saves you tons of time. Just toss in your lunch box and you’re good to go.

You can get individual packages of things like baby carrots or apples.

It will also take you like 20 seconds to grab a handful of cherry tomatoes or some pre cut melon and toss in a container.

Make a snack box

Another easy lunch I really enjoy is snack boxes. Also because I just really like snacks!

If you like lots of choices and variety, you’ll love a good snack box lunch.

What you can put in your snack box:

Cheese cubes or string cheese

Crackers

Slices of lunch meat

Turkey pepperoni slices

Nuts

Dried fruit

Nut butter packs

Boiled eggs (you can get these already prepared)

Yogurt pouches

Pretzels

Pita chips

Laughing cow cheeses

Hummus

Ranch cups

Baby carrots

Bell pepper slices

Broccoli cuts

Cherry or grape tomatoes

Apple slices

Grapes

Strawberries

Pre-cut melon

Berries

You see now you have tons of options, and you can get super creative!

Plus, it will be hard to get bored with all of the different foods you can mix and match with. I know I definitely get tired of the same thing everyday!

The finishing touch

Get yourself a cute lunchbox and water bottle!

I know, I know, it’s a small detail, but it can make a huge difference!

Toting your lunch in something nice can be just another motivator to bring a healthy meal to eat.

Here are some cute options!

You got it!

Now there is no excuse for you not to have a healthy lunch to bring to work!

It’s super easy to just throw something together in just a few minutes, with very little prep work.

What is your favorite easy, go to meal?
